Eaton’s Industrial Controls Division is currently seeking a Product Line Sales Manager - Projects. This role is based out of Menomonee Falls, WI.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $116,250 - $170,500 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

This position would include managing the day to day tactical direction of the Projects sales team for the Drives, Soft Starters and Enclosed Control business, as well as driving growth with the field sales organization. The Product Line Sales Manager is also responsible for the performance of the staff of division sales engineers, digital sales ops team, and Projects Sales Lead. This includes all aspects of project negotiation; interpretation of customer plans and specifications; product application; tactical and strategic planning; proposal preparation; interface with product line management; review of customer terms and conditions; price band management; quotation tools; win/loss performance; and resource optimization/continuous improvement activities. Responsibilities also include order reconciliation, facilitation of order entry; and other customer requested functions as required to properly obtain rapid and profitable sales growth for the product line.

What you’ll do:

  • Meet or exceed the sales billed, orders entered and price (RPI) objectives of the product line by market segment as determined by manager in accordance with historical performance and available market data for assigned regions.
  • Establish, grow and maintain cooperative commercial relationships with present and potential customers. Effectively employ and train the staff to the highest level of skills specific to the art of salesmanship and product knowledge. Expand the department knowledge of customers businesses, market segments and organizations. Clearly communicate the Motor Control & Protection product line and ICD strategic plans to the sales engineering staff, field sales and customers.
  • Plan, implement, execute and follow-up sales and marketing strategies within Americas Region.
  • Assume a leadership role in the formation and execution of sales plans with field sales through the evaluation of competitive product offerings and tactics. Drive the development of e-Tools and Bid Manager specific to product line initiatives.
  • Monitor and report monthly on status of ongoing negotiations, orders entered, sales billed and negotiations lost. Report significant activities of competitive manufacturers related to products and price within assigned region(s).
  • Develop accurate monthly forecasts and report market trends in a timely and efficient manner. Report new product requirements and coordinate department efforts with the Product Managers for product development as needed.
  • Recommend and implement changes in procedures, policies, and methods that increase level of Customer Service and/or reduce costs
  • Organize, mature, and report Projects Sales Funnel using data driven methods to continuously improve performance metrics. Monitor and report monthly on status of ongoing negotiations, orders entered, sales billed and negotiations lost. Report significant activities of competitive manufacturers related to products and price within assigned region(s).
  • Identify strategically important opportunities and engage product management and leadership in driving positive outcomes. Manage commercial escalations to the appropriate level and engage additional Product Line resources to effectively resolve, document, and learn from issues.
  • Develop and promote sales messaging which promotes competitive advantages and right-to-win for members of General Sales team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Operations management and third-party resources to ensure high product quality and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience managing a team
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a sales support and/or engineered order support function
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Menomonee Falls will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in electrical engineering or similar field (BSEET or BSME)
  • Experience with SalesForce and Eaton BidManager application
  • Experience selling or delivering large projects-based business, especially for construction or municipal customers

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable in sales practices, negotiations, quotation process, and agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive mindset, with the ability to lead and coordinate change management
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Applications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as lead, motivate, and adapt management style
  • Promotes a positive and collaborative team environment focused on collective success
  • Ability to develop team members professionally
  • Knowledge of motor control productions including adjustable speed drives.
